Summary

When the race starts by lifting up the E-card and finishes by punching the finish control, and if the runner starts later than the designated start time, you need to add the penalty time(delay time) to the record.

Why you need to add the penalty time

When the race starts by lifting up the E-card and finishes by punching the finish unit, the runner's record is calculated by the time recorded in the E-card, which is the time from lift-up start to punching finish. In case the runner starts late, the record should be calculated from the designated start time, but the record will be actually calculated from the actual start time, which means the elapsed time will be smaller than the true record. Therefore, if the race style if lift-up start and punching finish, there is a need to add the penalty time.
However, if the race style is not lift-up start and punching finish, you should NOT input the penalty time. If you do, that record will be added up to the true record, and the runner's elapsed time will be longer than the true record. If the race does not start by lifting up the E-card, the start time will be calculated from the designated start time. If the race does not finish by punching the finish unit, the finish time will be measured manually. In either cases, the record will be calculated accurately, and there is no need to add up the penalty time.

Communication with Organizers at Start

Talk with the organizers at start beforehand about how to communicate information about runners' delay (communicate by phone, SNS, etc.). If the race style is lift-up start and punching finish, there is a need to input penalty time to Mulka2, which means the organizers at start has to record late runners' start time. Also, organizers at start needs to quickly tell you (the organizer handling Mulka2) that information.
It is important that the organizers at start does not let the late starters to start at random time, but redesignate the late runners' start time to 00 secs or 30 secs every minute. This is because it will be easier for the organizers at start to record the start time, and because it will be easier for you(the organizer handling Mulka2) to distinguish between the runner who started late because of their delay and the runner who started late because of other reasons.

How to Input Penalty Time

Type in the runner's name in the "Search" box placed on the left-bottom side of the main window, and open the late competitor's "Competitor Info" window. Next, click the "Change Result (R)" button, and show the "Change Result" window. You can also show this window by clicking the item on the "Warning List" which is shown placed on the right-hand side of the main window.
When the "Change Result" window is shown, type in the time you would like to add in the "Penalty Time" box. Use the "hhmmss" or "mmss" format. The colon(:) is optional. image

Warning

Do NOT change the runner's start time, but input the penalty time as shown above. If you change the runner's start time, it means the runner's late start is the organizer's fault, and the penalty time will not be added in the record.
