You can read e-cards and SI cards with your Android smartphone using a dedicated app.
You'll need to use a cloud service at the same time.
You can read data after finishing, check starts, and register entries for runners competing in the second race.

== Important notes for installation ==
Due to the outdated nature of the application, a warning will be displayed when installing it on newer versions of Android devices.
Please enable the installation of apps from unknown sources in the security settings of Chrome and Android, and if a warning - 'Blocked unsafe apps' is displayed by Google Play protect, please tap 'detail' and install the app after acknowledging the risks.

== Usage ==
This explanation assumes that you are using [[Cloud Service]].

Connect the reading unit(EMIT) or main station(SPORTident) to your smartphone, then launch the app.
A screen may appear asking you to allow access to USB devices.
If this happens, tap OK.

When you start the app, a screen will appear asking you to enter your user ID and other information.
After selecting the punching system, select something like ‘USB device [/dev~]’ in the Bluetooth/USB device field.
In the program mode field, select the purpose for reading the card.
Enter the same user ID and password that you use for the cloud service.
Enter your name as the user name.
Confirm that the Cloud Server field is set to ‘jp.mulka2.com’, then tap ‘Connect’ in the upper right corner to enable e-card and SI-Card reading.

== About reading after finishing ==

The smartphone simply reads the card data and sends it to the server; no penalty check is performed on the smartphone.
Once processing is complete on the cloud server, the results are displayed on the smartphone. Please use in a location with good signal reception.

== About entries for second race ==

This can be used in competitions where there is an extra course specifically for the second race.
When you start the program, a selection box for the second race class will appear, so select the extra course class.
When you scan the card of the athlete running in the second race, a confirmation screen will appear, so make any necessary corrections before registering.

== Important points ==
As mobile phone lines may experience problems on the day of the event,
please be sure to prepare a backup method that does not rely on communication.

To revert to the previous display format, set ‘Unify display for missing punches’ to OFF and ‘Unify display for disqualifications’ to ON (value set to DISQ).
Event data created in older versions will not have its settings altered when opened in newer versions. (Missing punches will still display as DISQ.)
Event data created in Ver.2.30 or later (where “Unify display for missing punches” is ON with value set to “MP”) will display as P1 (not MP) within older versions when opened (including when connected in client mode).

== How to assign two or more E-cards/SI cards to one runner ==
Create two columns for card numbers in the start list (Startlist.dat), such as ‘Card Number 1’ and ‘Card Number 2,’ and link the two numbers to the runner. If multiple card numbers are registered, the card registered under Card Number 1 will be treated as the main card, and the others will be treated as backup cards.

When reading cards, a penalty check is performed by reading the main card. If the main card cannot be read and completion cannot be confirmed, a message will appear on the screen instructing you to read the backup card as well. Please continue to read the backup card. If merging the backup card data results in completion being recognised, it will be treated as completion.

If the backup card is read first, a message will appear stating, ‘Please read the main card first.’ Please read the main card.

== How to assign two or more E-cards/SI cards to one runner ==
Create two columns for card numbers in the start list (Startlist.dat), such as ‘Card Number 1’ and ‘Card Number 2,’ and link the two numbers to the runner. If multiple card numbers are registered, the card registered under Card Number 1 will be treated as the main card, and the others will be treated as backup cards.

When reading cards, a penalty check is performed by reading the main card. If the main card cannot be read and completion cannot be confirmed, a message will appear on the screen instructing you to read the backup card as well. Please continue to read the backup card. If merging the backup card data results in completion being recognised, it will be treated as completion.

If the backup card is read first, a message will appear stating, ‘Please read the main card first.’ Please read the main card.

===Creating .dat Files===
Before using, you have to create 2 files and input some data. If the race style is individual race, you have to create "Intermediate.dat" and "Class.dat". If the race style is relay, you have to create "Intermediate.dat" and "RelayClass.dat". 

"Intermediate.dat" is a data file that defines names of intermediate controls. This file is needed for both individual race and relay. You create this file by a text editor (ex. Notepad). In the first row, write "Name", and in the second row and so on, write the name you want to call the intermediate controls. You can freely decide the names.

A dedicated android application 'Online Control Reader' must be installed on the smartphone.

The main station and other devices are connected to the smartphone using a USB OTG cable.
When the Android app is launched, a screen similar to the one below will appear, so enter the information and tap the Start button.
Make sure that the card number appears on the screen when you punch in the main station or online control.

===Using a Mobile Phone===
What you need:

1 rechargeable battery per intermediate control

At the intermediate control, one person is in charge of inputting data, and another is in charge of communicating with the people at the venue.

If you wish to use a mobile phone at intermediate control, you have to access to a special website. If you contact me before the event, I will tell you the URL. My email address is: (画像) 
Check if you can access this website before the event. Also, make sure to full charge the mobile phone you will use.

From here are the instructions for set-up in the special website. 
If you access the URL, you will see the intermediate control selection view. Select the control your mobile phone is in charge of. When you are doing practice or test, select "Test." 
If you click the "Select" button, the view will change to the number input view. Show this view and wait until the competitors come.

When the competitor passes the intermediate control, input the competitor's start number and click "Select." The data will be sent to the system. Mulka2 treats the time you sent the data as the time the competitor passed the intermediate control. There are few seconds of time lag, but that does not matter a lot because this is just a prompt report. If multiple competitors passed the control at the same time, put a space between their start numbers like this: "15 17 18".

If you made a mistake, click the "□" shown on the left of the start number data that you want to change or delete.

From here on are the instructions for the organizer at the venue. You use a tool named "Intermediate Remote Connection." Launch this tool from Mulka2 start menu > Other > Intermediate Remote Connection.

When it is connected, you will see a blank list. When information is inputted by the mobile phone, data will be shown on the screen. Put a check mark in the "Auto Sync" box.

The tool will connect to the mobile phone every 20 seconds. The information will be shown on the main window screen automatically, so once this tool is correctly connected, you can just leave the tool as it is, and go back to the main window.
